Dr Théogène RUTAGWENDA will continue his duties as the Chairperson of the National University of Rwanda (NUR) Board of Directors. He made this statement in an interview with the National University of Rwanda public relations office while reacting to his election as the Vice President of the world Organization for Animal Health (OIE), Regional Commission for Africa.
Dr. Théogène RUTAGWENDA declared that his new position in OIE as it does not require full time commitment, he will continue with his commitments in Rwanda including the Chairperson of the NUR Board of Directors. He said: “I will continue my usual duties including membership of the NUR Board of Directors as my new position does not necessitate a full time mission. According to OIE principles, we will be meeting 6 times per year what I think will not affect my usual duties”.
Dr. Théogène RUTAGWENDA was elected in Paris on 25th May 2012 with a three year mandate. The assembly that attracted over 600 delegates also elected Dr. Marosi Molomo from Lesotho as president for the Africa region. Dr. Théogène RUTAGWENDA is also the Director General of Animal Resources in the Ministry of Agriculture (RARDA).
