Prof. Silas Lwakabamba
This Tuesday, the 26th February 2013, Prof. Silas Lwakabamba, the outgoing Rector of the National University of Rwanda swore in as new Minister of Infrastructure.
He is one of the new entrants in the cabinet alongside Amb.Claver Gatete who was appointed Minister of Finance,Seraphine Mukantabana (Minister in charge of Refugees and Disaster Management), and Oda Gasinzigwa as Minister of Family and Gender Promotion in the Office of the Prime Minister.
Note that three new Ministers of State portfolios have been created, with Dr Anita Asiimwe as Health State minister in charge of Public Health and Primary Healthcare.
Former Infrastructure minister Albert Nsengiyumva reverted to State in the Ministry of Education (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), while Evode Imena is now the Minister of State in the Ministry of Natural Resources in charge of Mining.
His Excellency, President of Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame who officiated the Swearing in Ceremony, urged new ministers to bring their unique abilities to their new jobs but also work as a team for the benefit of all Rwandans.
